U11 Rugby beat Merchiston

A close encounter!

With a huge group of boys eager to play, we enjoyed a rather disjointed yet spirited and, at times, skilful game of rugby today against our pals from Merchiston.

We started the game rather nervously, dropping off tackles and allowing the Merchiston boys to run in three un-answered tries. Jamie led the comeback, showing the way with some solid defensive work. This seemed to inspire his team and our tackling improved as the game developed. Lachie also came on and made a big difference to the team, making tackles, looking dangerous in attack and, most impressively, giving great passes putting players into space. Monty S and Bertie both played very well, tackling with courage and heart and looking to make an impact on the game, which was super to see. Hamish was busy and determined to get involved as was Arlo, who scored a couple of rapid tries down the wing. Lots to work on but a solid start to our fixtures. Well played boys.
