The life of a Game Ranger in the Pentlands

We enjoyed welcoming Jak Kennedy (Cargilfield 1993-2000) to hear his stories of being a game ranger in South Africa and playing his pipes at the South Pole. Mr Kennedy also told us all about the work of the Pentland Land Managers' Association. Given how much we get to use the Pentland Hills (not just for the Pentland Round, but on a weekly basis in Outdoor Adventure) it was really interesting to see how the various landowners are coming together to make sure that the regional park is properly looked after and that we can all enjoy the area alongside those who are farming the land. Thanks to Mr Kennedy (whose father and grandfather also came to Cargilfield) for coming back to see us.
