Over the course of the last few weeks, some of our more advanced musicians have been participating in the Edinburgh Competition Festival, which has been an important part of the musical calendar in Edinburgh for over 100 years now. It provides an excellent opportunity for children to perform in outside venues amongst other youngsters playing at a similar standard, and the adjudication at the end of each class gives them detailed feedback, as well as allowing them to hear and consider the feedback given to the other performers. It is such an excellent learning experience and we are always pleased when children manage to fit a performance at the Competition Festival into this busy term.

Well done to all the participants this year, but special mention must go to Oliver, Highly Commended in his piano class, and Athena, Winner of her guitar class. Given the standard of playing at the Festival these are excellent achievements!
