U13B Netball beat Craigclowan

A real thriller, right to the end!

Craigclowan: 17

Cargilfield: 18

The B squad played a good indoor game this week against Craigclowan. It was a nice and fast game. The girls had the advantage of having watched the A team play first. They had an idea of what to expect from the beginning. The opposition were offensive and snatching all the balls they could, not missing an opportunity. Therefore, the B team girls were on their toes from the first whistle blow.

During the first quarter the girls got many successful opportunities to score with Julie and Mariella (our captain) in GS and GA positions. Later on, we decided to move Lily from Centre to GD to use her height and her speed to our advantage. Amalia started as GD but later swapped for another position and let the GD bib to Lara in the second and third quarters. Sophia did well as a WD and passed the ball back to the attack very quickly. After having a go at GD, Hattie found her footings in the role of WA in the last quarter. The score was very tight before the last part of the game (only one point to us) and the girls needed to be alert and ready for every pass. It worked well in the end as we won by one point. Isabella did a great job at GK during the whole game and Scarlett managed to intercept most balls in the last quarter when she moved to Centre, helping her team to win.

Well done, girls- a brilliant match!
