Under-12 Cricket at Strathallan Won by 120 runs

Our Under-12s travelled up to Strathallan. Having won the toss, captain for the day, Kit, elected to bat first. He made a good start, partnering with Archie B for the first wicket as they engineered some excellent singles until a pinpoint throw brought a run out for Strathallan. Orhan then joined Kit at the crease, and he struck some strong shots, one of which resulted in a four before he was caught at mid-on. When Sylvan came out to bat, he managed select the right strokes for each ball and quickly got his eye in, eventually accumulating 50 runs, including 10 fours, before he was retired on 50 not out. Rafa, Theo and Archie R all had good cameos in the final five overs, helping the side to 162, of which a sizeable portion were extras. In defending their total, each fielder got a chance to bowl one over. The bowling was impressive, with not very many wides bowled at all. Theo, Rafa, Oliver and Archie B each took one wicket, Kit took two in his over, and Sylvan took an impressive hat trick to finish off the match and secure a win by 120 runs. Well done to all the boys for the fine cricket and sportsmanship they displayed.
