U13A Netball v Fettes
Win 23 – 14
Second game of the season and the squad of Maddie, Savanna, Izzy, Scarlett, Jess, Esme, Miranda and Julia arrived at Fettes ready for a good match. It was great to play indoors which the girls used to their full advantage. From the first whistle the teams game pace was fast and their stamina was being tested. Throughout the court the team were getting in front of their oppositions and showed great determination, really wanting the ball, snatching it and jumping to get the interception. The defense did a wonderful job of stopping the ball getting into the circle and passing it out towards the central court players and back into attack again making it hard for Fettes to keep up. The teams ball skills were of a high level only starting to get a bit sloppy towards the end of the final quarter when tiredness set in.
The attacking players received some lovely high balls and the correct use of bounce passes this week were evident to give the team an advantage.
The team should be very proud of their performance, teamwork, work rate and basic skills.
To develop they need to work on rebounding the ball when in the circles in both attack and defense as well as watching their stepping and footwork.
Fettes awarded player of the match to Maddie after her incredible play in defence.
