U11B Netball v Belhaven

Won 7-2

With a strong looking team on paper, the girls went out and proved it with a dominant display. Starting the game well with some strong passing, we set up our first goal within the first minute. The girls then didn’t relax after their early score and really piled on the pressure and went on to score another 2 before Belhaven replied with one of their own. This did not set the girls back at all as they carried on and shook the goal off and went and scored another which took them into the first break 4-1 up. With a quick chat about being loud when we are in space instead of just standing their and not getting the ball, it was definilty a louder second quarter. Unfortunately, we couldn’t build on the momentum we gained within the first quarter as Belhaven applied some pressure and restricted us to only scoring one before they managed to score again. With some more pressure being applied, we held on to only conceding one.

With another chat at half time about being loud when in space and being energetic and getting into more space if the defender manages to catch up, they set out in the 3^rd quarter positively but with a couple of changes made in positions, we couldn’t capitalise on the chances that we made and came away with a few misses. This did not frustrate the girls though as they kept on going and working hard. Eventually, our 6^th goal came as we had come up with some brilliant passes into the space and opened the Belhaven defence up and left them looking over shoulders to try and find the ball. As we went into the final quarter, several mistakes were being made in footwork, contact and replayed balls came into the game. With this happening, a little bit of frustration started to build but the girls finished strongly managing to score another and take the score to 7-2 at the end of the match. He girls all played well today and should be proud of their performance today. Well done girls.
