U13A Hockey v Belhaven

Once we found Hallhill Astro with the road closures confusing us, we enjoyed a fast and free-flowing game of hockey against our pals from Belhaven. We started the game strongly scoring two quick goals in the opening quarter, one a beautiful reverse hit from Charles that went top corner and was pretty much upstoppable. The second quarter we played some good passing hockey and created some good chances – some great saves from the Belhaven captain as keeper and some sloppy finishes kept us to scoring just once.

The third quarter we were a little off the pace and a ball everyone thought was going out was kept in by a brilliant chase from Belhaven, a confusion between Thabo and Conrad saw the ball go in. This galvanised us into the final quarter during which we played some powerful hockey and converted one of many chances. More ruthlessness infront of goal and a willingnes to pass backwards, are things to work on.
