Cargilfield 26 - 16 Strathallan

Final game of an incredible season for the Cargilfield 1^st Netball Team. The team have come a very long way from the first game of the season. They have turned up to every match and training session with a willing to learn and with great attitudes and now show incredible knowledge of the game and set plays, a high level of skills, teamwork and passion for the sport!

Today the team played against Strathallan at home with the sun shining and the wonderful support from parents on the sideline again. The team had played Strathallan in the quarter and finals at the Ardvreck Tournament which we had won both games but were ready to play a longer match against them. The team were ready to finish the season on a high!

Maddie (Capt) won the centre pass and also allowed our shooters to score away from the sun in the first quarter giving us a nice advantage. The team were delighted to also have Esme back after being away for the last month! The game started fast with the team working well as a unit, passing and moving and playing their fast paced game. The shooters Miranda and Esme were also working well together finishing the first quarter 7 – 4 (W). With 2 subs we were able to play around with this very versitile and adaptable team brining Tunrayo in for GA and Lexi for WD. Again a very successful quarter with WA Izzy and C Scarlett playing their socks off, and as always linking really well together. Their urgency to get the ball and wanting posession was very evident. 2^nd quarter finised 15-7 (W). The third quarter the team had a bit of shuffling with Esme and Tunryao working together in attack which was a new experience for them both but after a few minutes started to gel and score. Maddie, Savanna and Jess all had a lot more work to do in this third with Strathallan’s attacking play being far more dominent and ball hungry. The defensive were great at jumping up to grab the ball from the Strath’s shots on the net winning most of the posession. Fast balls were also used a lot to get the ball away from the defensive third giving Cargilfield the upper edge.

3^rd quarter 21-11(W). The final quarter the team started to tire with both teams scoring 5-5.
