2^nd XI v Edinburgh Academy

Our second game of the season was against Edinburgh Academy and we were put into bat by the visiting team after they won the toss. After a slow start from our opening batters, Zak came in and hit two sixes in the first 4 balls he faced and quickly reached the 25 mark which meant he was retired as the coaches had agreed before the start of the game. Dexter and Tristan formed a terrific 66 partnership, playing some lovely well-timed shots, and were then both retired. Some cheap wickets fell after that but we finished with a solid total of 152.

After tea, their captain batted very well before being retired on 25. Zak made a superb direct hit to dismiss their other impressive batter and after that, their run-rate dropped. Wilfred took three wickets and Harry and Alexander both got one each and we limited them to 98 runs after their 20 overs, giving us a convincing 54 run win.

An overall impressive team performance but special mention to Zak, Dexter and Tristan who scored the majority of our runs, Wilfred who was our top with the ball and Jamie P who was outstanding in the field.
