A super first game of the season!

It was a great day for a game of cricket. The girls were all so excited to get the season going. We still weren’t sure if we were playing pairs or proper cricket. All the girls were really wanting to play proper cricket.

After announcing our captain, Issy A she went and did the toss which we won and chose to bat first.

The wicket looked a little green but played really well. Edinburgh Academy had some brilliant bowlers who bowled a very good line and length, with a decent pace. Scarlett M batted really well defending the good ball and capitalising on any bad ball.

We missed out on a few runs with our running between the wickets on quite up to scratch. So that’s something we can work on.

We posted a decent score of 112 off our 15 overs.

Edinburgh Academy came out looking for a quick start but thankfully our opening pair of Issy A and Scarlett M proved very difficult to get away. We had a mixed bag with our bowling giving away far too extras, mainly wides. We tried to bowl to quick where all we needed was a good line and length.

We kept the pressure on with regular wickets and some good fielding especially Savannah W with a great high catch.

We continued to play our game and restricted Edinburgh Academy to 84 off their 15 overs.

What a way to start the season with a fantastic win. Well played team.
