2nd Team Cricket v St Mary’s
After a long trip to Melrose, we lost the toss and were asked to field. With a strong start from Kit and Freddie taking a couple of wickets, the boys were up for it. Unfortunately, we were unable to keep the extras down as the next couple of bowlers came in to the attack. With the majority bowling 2 overs each, the wickets were shared around as we took 10 out of the 11 wickets. Archie brook, took a wicket with his first ball of his over. Tristan bowled well at the end and Wilfred with some good pace beating the bat on several occasions. With 25 runs being scored off the bat in the whole innings, the boys had given away a total of 71 extras which lead to a 96 run chase with the bat.
Zak and Theo then opened up and Zak looked to have some fun. He smashed a quick fire 30 and was asked to retire. Rufus then came in and batted through to the end. Meanwhile Theo chipped one back to Mid on, and Archie tried sweeping one and came off his glove caught behind. Rufus and James then knocked the runs off with 10 overs still to bat. The boys were in a great mood before getting back on the bus for the hour and half journey back to Cargilfield.
