U9 Cricket v St Mary’s

Won by 71 runs

The U9 boys took on our pals from the borders in a fun, eventful game of soft b all cricket. Cargilfield bowled first and I was impressed with the way the team fielded. Everyone kept focused on the game and there were some super catches and run-outs. The bowling was accurate on the whole, although some found the length harder on a grass wicket. Nevertheless, we restricted the St Mary’s boys to 37 runs. The bowling scores were:

When we had our turn to bat we looked to hit out and score some runs, reaching 108 in total. The shot choice was not always the best one, but we scored runs and had some fun hitting big, which was good. Our calling between the wickets is improving as our understanding of the game develops.
