U10A Cricket vs Fettes

With the short trip across to Fettes, we lost the toss and were asked to field. Jack and Geordie opened the bowling and kept it tight and only 10 runs were scored off their 4 overs. Hamish and Jamie then came into the attack and again Fettes struggled with the good lines of bowling and with 2 wickets in Jamie’s last over, reduced Fettes score back down to 7. Miguel and Max were the third pair to bowl and again wickets were taken. 1 wicket each for the pair of them. Fettes were further reduced down to 2. Then came the trio of Torin, Arlo and Wilf. With all 3 of them again bowling well, Fettes were unable to add runs off the bat in the first couple of overs but there were a couple of wides and then 3 singles coming of the third over taking their score up to 7. Livia and Bea then came into the attack, and bowled very well as they were bowling at Fettes best pair. Fettes managed to take their score up to 21 with 1 pair left. Johnny and Lochy bowled well but gave away a few wides and no balls but then the wickets came in the last over as we reduced Fettes again back down to 14. A very good first half.

The Trio then opened up and some big hitting was done with Wilf scoring 14 runs off his over. After they had batted, the score was at 24. Johnny and Lochy then came to the crease and with a steady start, runs then came as we took our score to 44. Bea and Livia then came and took the score to 59 with both of them hitting a couple of fours. Max and Miguel then came to the crease and some damage was done. A few wides were bowled which meant we scored nearly 30 runs from the 4 overs and took our score up to 87. Jamie and Hamish were the next pair to bat and the power hitting began. With several boundaries being smashed including a 6 from Jamie, Hamish was also playing lovely shots both in the air and along the floor which boosted our score up to 117. Geordie and Jack were the last to come into bat and a few more fours were hit but unforuantley there were quite a lot of wides which meant not much could be hit. We ended our innings on 154 which was a victory of 140 runs. Well played the U10s.
