Game 2: 35 – 33 Win

The senior girls had an eventful and competitive softball match against St. George's on the hottest day of the year. Bea and Amalia started the game as the bowlers, with Bea performing exceptionally well and only allowing 0 points in the first over with a catch. The team displayed good catching skills, successfully fielding a number of high hits.

However, St. George's had some powerful hitters who managed to hit the ball out of the boundaries, earning them 4 runs each time. Despite this, the team put in a strong effort and held St. George's to a total of 66 runs after their innings.

When it was Cargilfield's turn to bat, the pairs worked well together, communicating effectively and taking extra runs through their batting and fielding strategies. Isla G stood out as the biggest hitter, scoring a 6 and a 4 during her turn. However, St. George's managed to limit the team's score to 63 runs, resulting in St. George's winning the first game.

Despite the loss, the team remained motivated and eager to play another short game. The second game ended in a close finish, with Cargilfield emerging as the winners with a score of 35 to 33 runs.

Overall, it was a wonderful first fixture against St. George's, and the senior girls should be commended for their efforts and performance in the challenging heat. Well done to the team!
