U11B Rugby beat Belhaven

A super team performance

U11B Rugby v Belhaven

Won 11-2

On a rainy afternoon, we extended a warm welcome to our friends from East Lothian for an exciting game of rugby. Despite the slippery ball, our team exhibited exceptional handling skills, resulting in three early tries which included a terrific solo run from Monty. Torin was aggressive in his ball carrying and this got us on the front foot early on. Although Belhaven managed to score one try due to a series of infringements, we held a commanding 6-1 lead at half time.

In the second half, we faced numerous penalties for offsides and some minor tackling infractions, primarily focused on ball targeting. Timothy, Geordie and Oliver emerged as our standout tacklers, while Bertie displayed remarkable strength at the breakdown. In terms of our offensive play, we adapted to a new rule introduced exclusively for the second half, requiring us to pass the ball through three sets of hands before scoring. Stuart and Salman who played in the middle of the back line were the best at looking to spread the ball wide to exploit the space. Our captain and today’s man of the match, Geordie, delivered the pass of the game, which was beautifully timed and set Blake up for a stylish corner try to conclude the match.

Congratulations to the entire team for a well-played game!
