U11 Rugby v Belhaven

This afternoon we faced a Belhaven team on a wet, rainy day at Cargilfield. We started with a lot of energy and purpose, running hard and we managed to score some early tries. Despite the wet, slippy ball, our handling was good, including some super off-loads from the tackle. Lochy distributed particularly well this afternoon, holding the ball in two hands and giving well-timed passes, freeing up players to run the ball in. Our defensive work was good too, holding out against some spirited attacks, with Hamish showing super technique and courage in the tackle area. Johnny was very quick onto the ball on the ground and counter-rucked very well. Wilf was playing with real determination too, until a knock on the nose put an end to his game. We were lucky to have Mr Hanrahan refereeing for us this afternoon, who made the journey south from Glenalmond – many thanks! Overall, a decent game, well played.
