The Under 9 girls enjoyed watching the skillful play of the U13s when waiting to play their matches but unfortunately when it was their turn the heavens opened. Both teams kept up very fine effort, despite the deluge and we enjoyed two very close matches. Cuan refereed the Tigers in a 3 all draw. Isla, Arabella and Zanna worked hard to give each other great passing options and several lovely passes were delivered. Arabella was the match scorer and played very well. The defenders were caught napping at one point and we conceded a goal as they were not alert. However, it was a super effort overall.

Halle refereed the Lions match and it finished in a 5-4 loss, a very close match. Key highlights were Izzie and Sophie taking hit outs very quickly, Izzie with some great wide clearances, and Clara with some lovely drives. Our goals were scored by Lotte, Kirsty and Clara. Final score Lions 4 St Mary’s 5.

Well done, girls. You are making good progress and your skills are continuing to improve. Targets for training this week include, driving into space rather than trying to play through players, using our skills to go around them and the sweep pass.
