U10 Touch Rugby v Merchiston

Won 14 - 6

A very comprehensive victory by the boys today with multiple tries scored by many of us making for a thrilling try-fest. The match started off with Cargilfield running in two early tries by Hugo M to give us the early lead. However, a Merchiston comeback was on as our defense faltered allowing Merchiston to score a try in the corner cutting down our lead, but with some great touches and fancy footwork it wasn’t long until we were ahead 4-2. After some quick substitutions Hector fired a great ball to Ensay who ran around Merchiston untouched to score in the corner which gave us a half time lead of 6-3.

After half time Merchiston once again threatened us with another comeback and after a lengthy drive managed to score in the corner once again. With the wake-up call delivered the boys bounced back to push the score out to 10-4. With the game about to enter the final 5 minuets a spirited Merchiston ran in two tries in quick succession making for a nervy finish to the game. However, the boys dug deep and manage to score 4 unanswered tries in the final minuets of the game sealing the result for Cargilfield.

A special shout out must be given for some great teamwork displayed by Hector M, Daniel L, and Harry B who were instrumental in setting up some of our Tries with some brilliant passes to Ezra T, Ensay T, and Nick Y ultimately helping secure the result for Cargilfield.
