Some terrific rugby!

U11A Rugby v Craigclowan

Won 8-4

We enjoyed a physical and fast-paced game against Craigclowan today. The first half was more even, as both teams looked to play attacking rugby and I was impressed with the tackling and rucking from both sides. The teams exchanged four tries each on the first half, with some good passing and off-loading. We started the second half very strongly with a powerful, surging run from Wilf breaking a number of tackles before he gave a deft off-load to Lachie who ran a great supporting line. This seemed to motivate the Cargi players, who started attacking the breakdown area more ferociously and put the Cragclowan boys under a lot of pressure. Johnny and Jamie were excellent at getting up early in defence and harassing the ball carriers. Geordie started the game particularly well, making a couple of text-book style tackles when the game was still quite even. Miguel made some strong runs and looked to link with his outside players. Hamish tackled relentlessly throughout the game and attacked with aggression. Timo looked to run well with the ball, when he got the chance. Torin had some great clear-outs in the ruck area and showed his decent handling skills. The two Monty’s both played well, running aggressively and making their tackles. Arlo, James and David also played well, keeping their positions to give the team shape, as well as making solid tackles.
