U11B Rugby beat Craigclowan

Tries galore!

A large squad of U10 and U11 boys took on the U11B team from Craigclowan, and in order to have as many players on the pitch as possible, we leant our Perthshire opponents a couple of players and rotated them as the match went on. There was a distinct lack of tackling - from both sides - as the game became that akin to a basketball match with lots of scores in quick succession. However, we tended to have the upper hand and took a two try lead into half time. During the half time break, there was much emphasis on not just trying to run through everyone on your own and the second half began with some lovely flowing, passing rugby. Some quickly forgot the half time team talk and we scored a number of further individual tries. Whilst the boys in patches put in some great performances, there were a few who deserve mention. Oliver B led his team well and Bertie's tackling was pretty ferocious. However, there was one player who was constantly involved and always first to the breakdown. Seb helped the team secure good ball with his strong body position in the rucks and his running with the ball was also commendable. He capped off an all-round excellent performance with a lovely run to score for the visitors - it was his turn to represent them in the final stages of the match!

Well done to all the boys who kept playing running rugby and also well done to Craigclowan for sticking at it throughout. Final score 14-7 to Cargilfield.
