U13B Hockey lost to Loretto

U13B Hockey lost to Loretto

A very close encounter!

Today’s miserable conditions didn’t stop the U13s from playing their socks off. There were many strong drives down the right side of the pitch, not just from our forwards, but from our defenders too. Cargilfield dominated the first half by making hard passes around the back and then passing wide to go around Loretto’s midfield. It was fantastic to see how our girls didn’t hesitate to hit the ball from the top of the D at the goal. However, we couldn’t quite find the right positions on post to tap the ball in.

The second half of the game was more evenly matched as both teams found a burst of energy. Sadly, a dip in our concentration led to Loretto scoring an unlucky goal. But we didn’t go down without a fight! We started clearing the balls faster and we managed to make great baseline runs.

As the rain began to fall during the remaining minutes of the match, the girls attempted several more shots and even some great reverse hits which unfortunately didn’t go in.

The score certainly doesn’t reflect how much effort the U13s put into their accurate passing and phenomenal skills they used today. Well done on your amazing teamwork!
