U9 Hockey beat Strathallan

A super end to the season!

U9 Hockey v Strathallan

The under nine girls put in such a strong performance in the first third of our game, scoring six goals very quickly, that it made much more sense to mix the two teams. The girls were very happy to do so and it created an opportunity for all of the girls to improve their skills and to achieve some measure of success. In the end the pink team were the winners, scoring five goals with the blue team scoring one. All of the goals were scored by Cargilfield girls, but they did pass to the Strathallan girls, and they made them feel involved. I was proud to see such good sportsmanship.

Cargilfield’s highlights include Izzie’s first ever goal, Isla demonstrating fantastic dribbling skills on the wing and scoring too, Clara defending strongly and also controlling the ball on the wing. Clara was also much more focused and accurate with her shooting. Sophie’s hit outs were amazing and Arabella and Zanna were hungry for goals and showed us some fine skills. Kirsty played very well once again, making herself useful everywhere, and showing great vision. Unfortunately, Annie and Lotte were injured and Isabella is unwell so not all of the squad managed to play today.

Very well done to all the girls! It is super to see how well your skills have developed. It has been a great pleasure to coach you this term. Thanks also to Halle and Miss Pett for their help.
