U11A Rugby beat Strathallan

A terrific team performance!

One of our best performances of the season, this talented group of young rugby players put on an impressive display of Junior Rugby. From the outset, our aggressive press and powerful rucking was too much for the opposition and we won a lot of turn-over ball. We barely missed a tackle all game and the Strath attack couldn’t penetrate out defensive wall. The structure was good and we dominated the game. In attack, we looked to pass away from the grouped Strathallan defences and ran in some super team tries. Some very strong performances from Captain and Vice-Captain, Hamish and Wilf, who led with 100% commitment and skill from the outset, always leading from the front and lifting the team’s performance. Lachie had one of his best performances today, hitting hard and low as well as distributing with perfect timing. Johnny scored a hattrick in the first half and was devastating in defence with his high press into the opposition with deadly chop tackles. Miguel controlled the mid-field well, distributing away from busy areas and taking on the opposition when the chance was there. Geordie and David both impressed when they came on with strong tackles and great flexibility in playing anywhere on the park. Arlo and Monty kept the shape well on the wings and were keen to get on the ball. James came over from the B match for a few minutes at the end and contributed powerfully, as we have come to admire from him. A superb team performance today against a plucky and skilful Strath team. Well played, boys.
