U9 Hockey beat St Mary's

Lots of goals and lots of fun!

Blues: W 5-0

W 4-0

Reds: W 5-0

W 7-0

On a dreich January day, the U9 Hockey Squad made their way to Melrose to play St Mary’s School, in their first hockey matches for Cargilfield. Excitement was high and the boys truly delivered in putting into practice what they had been coached in their first two sessions. Both teams moved the ball terrifically well, often playing with their “heads up” and looking for a pass rather than dribbling the ball themselves. Each of the boys played in a variety of positions, with no player on the sidelines for more than a matter of moments before being launched back into the game.

This was a seriously impressive start with everyone stepping up, showing tremendous sportsmanship and excellent hockey skills. We look forward to getting another week of training under our belt, before tackling Fettes next week. Well done, gents!
