We welcomed Fettes to play our Under-11Bs on Friday - a match postponed due to the freezing temperatures earlier in the week. The boys took a few minutes to score their first goal but were rewarded as their passing game eventually paid off. After the first goal, confidence grew and the boys began to create further opportunities. They got into good positions and whilst numerous chances went begging, they were able to convert some into goals. At the half-time, the score was 3-0. The Fettes boys showed their mettle but the Cargilfield boys experience showed, particularly in their ability to control the ball, and gave them the upper hand in the midfield. In the second half, Fettes threatened the home goal a couple of times but our defence coolly regathered the ball and continued to press. At 6-0 we made some personnel changes and played with one less player for the final 8 minutes, scoring two more goals before the final whistle. Well done to all the boys and our thanks to Fettes for taking the time to play against us.
