U9 Hockey beat Ardvreck

U9 Hockey beat Ardvreck

Well played, boys!

The Blues were captained by Arran and the Reds by Jack.

Both teams played well with the Reds really taking the game to the opposition in their opening match. Their basic skills were of a high standard with good dribbling and passing. The Reds maintained pressure on Ardvreck all over the pitch and quickly got into a comfortable lead. They played very well throughout eventually winning 4-0.

The Blues first game was more challenging. They got off to a slow start allowing Ardrverck to build their confidence and dominate the opening stages. That said we defended very well and almost held out until half time but Ardvreck scored a lovely team goal. We re-grouped at half time and began to use the width of the pitch more and find gaps. Arran and Hoyland drove forward with Karim and Alexander doing especially well in defence. Ardrverk held out and scored another good counter-attacking goal to win 2-0.

The second round of matches were equally competitive. Jack lead the Reds to another great victory though the team had to work much harder. The Blues bounced back from their defeat to show great spirit and win 2-0.

The matches were played in good spirit and we thank Ardrveck for coming down.

Players of the team – Jack (Reds) & Alexander (Blues)
