U13 A Netball vs Ardvreck

Lost 23-21

We were narrowly beaten in our last fixture so there was everything to play for. Ardvreck took an early lead as it took some time for us to get our heads in the game.

However, we started to mark more tightly and avoid loopy passes which meant that we were more effective in getting the ball to our shooters. Emilia was fantastic throughout as Wing Attack, anticipated the opposition’s next move and held her space well. She was supported effectively by Nadia at Wing Defence.

At the end of the first quarter Ardvreck were ahead with 7 goals to 4.

In the second quarter we raised our game. We were much more agile on court and Olivia played her socks off at Centre. We ended this quarter 1 goal behind.

In the last 2 quarters both our shooters and defenders were on fire. Ceci and Athena went for every ball and stopped many attempts by their shooters. Miranda and Scarlett were working well together and their shooting was fantastic. We were leading by one goal as we went into the final quarter.

Both teams were tired now but we continued to play at our best. The girls contested every ball and worked so well as a team. It was a pleasure to watch netball being played at this level.
