U13B Hockey beat Loretto

Well played, boys!

U13B Hockey v Loretto

Won 3-1

With strong numbers creating the team, the U13 boys were ready to face the Loretto side. Playing in quarters played to our advantage as this meant the team could reconvene and have some healthy team chat about how to move forward.

A pre-match discussion about placing players on back post meant that James was in the perfect position during the first quarter to receive the ball and touch it into the goal. The second Cargilfield goal was thanks to James running down the strong side of the pitch and passed a quick ball to Leo, who was on the back post ready for his shot. Our final goal was a straight strike from the penalty shot, where the keeper never stood a chance against Leo. There was a goal lull for some time after this, where Cargilfield had the ball mostly in the Loretto’s D, but unfortunately couldn’t find the net. A 20-second spell caught the boys off guard, and a great shot from the opposition meant a goal was conceded.

Alex played some solid hockey up front, and with both Max and Maxi at the back working with each other, as well as keeper Mack, they kept the ball moving up the pitch. Playing to our own strengths, the boys worked as a team to keep the goals coming. William had some great positioning around the pitch for quite a lot of the game, and thanks to Monty’s loud shouting, the communication was quickly on the rise. We had Speedy Senuka to our advantage who was everywhere at once. In the end the team won 3-1, with some good teamwork and constant pressure on the opposition. Shoutout to Leo Seijo who was Player of the Match after his consistent running and lovely goals. Good job, boys!
