U9 Netball beat Loretto

Well played, girls!

U9 Netball v Loretto

Won 9 – 3

The under 9 netball team went to Loretto this Wednesday and played some of their best netball this season. They were all very excited to get stuck into a seven-aside match instead of their usual five-aside. Unfortunately, Isla couldn’t play because she has an injured foot. They started off strong with fast, short passes and got the ball into the circle regularly. Sophie, Isabella and Arabella were a powerful combination, managing to score two goals in the first quarter despite the wind blowing a few shots off course. Lotte and Arabella were wing attack and wing defence respectively and they blew us away with how well they played in these unfamiliar positions.

Remaining goal shooter, Sophie scored three magnificent goals in the second quarter with help from Zanna, who fed her some wonderfully timed passes. Kirsty and Clara worked hard at their defence against some talented Loretto shooters and intercepted many crucial passes. In the third quarter, the girls kept up their hard work with Kirsty and Isabella feeding some great balls to Arabella scoring three goals from very far away from the pole.

In our forth and final quarter, the girls did not tire! Izzie and Clara defended their partners wonderfully and didn’t let a single goal through! Arabella, Kirsty and Isabella kept up their tremendous trio with Arabella scoring two more goals. After that incredible match, the girls should be super proud of themselves for thriving in a new form of the game. Well done, girls!
