U11A Hockey beat Loretto

Some excellent hockey on show!

We played two games against Loretto with the first being quite a comprehensive win and the second a closer affair by a couple of goals. The Blue team controlled the ball well through Wilf, James and Geordie at the back and linked up with our our attack of Jack, Jamie and Max. Some of the passes through the midfield were excellent but at times we lacked a little composure in front of goal. It wasn’t until Loretto tired a bit in the later stages that we then began to get the scoreboard ticking over. The Red team lacked a little bit of structure, particularly in midfield but Johnnie displayed strength in his passing and Oliver worked tirelessly on the left-hand side. Hamish was our liveliest player showing excellent pace to ghost past the opposition and Arthur’s width provided the space in the middle. Their keeper was incredible at shot-stopping so we had to be cleverer with our finishing which Lochie did calmly by finding the corners of the goal. Timothy played both games in goal and didn’t see much of the ball but he will be pleased with the two clean sheets! The Red’s were one short so we took someone from the other pitch and rotated them around: Tommy and Ensay got 5 minutes each before Seb, who normally keeps for the B team came on and played a solid game in defence.

Well done, boys on a great performance!
