The Form 6 & 7 girls headed over to St George's School for a morning entitled 'Women in Tech'. The keynote speaker was Leah Hutcheon, Founder and CEO of Appointedd, who has created online booking and smart scheduling software for businesses. She gave an inspiring talk of how her employment which started as dressing up as Mr Blobby on Blackpool pier to spotting a gap in the market 12 years ago and now runs a successful tech business which is used in over 180 countries all over the world. We listened to further talks from other women involved in the tech industry before being able to interact at some stalls and learn about how technology is used in everyday life. From cyber security to robots, the girls had great fun learning about key roles they could play in the future which involves computer science. Thank you to St George's for inviting us!
