The match got off to a quick start with Fettes taking an early lead with some excellent shooting. However, we picked up the pace and came back strongly in the second quarter capitalizing on our speed and some superb defensive work from Athena at GD. Olivia and Emily worked hard on the wings to send the ball to our shooters. Scarlett was on fire today with some amazing shots from the back of the D. Lottie also did well against a very tall GK and held her space well in the D.

Newcomers to our squad, Alice and Helena did well and had a baptism of fire against a feisty Fettes squad. Towards the end with everything to play for I think we played a little too fast and there was quite a lot of contact and obstruction form both teams. We need to work a little harder at keeping our heads and thinking clearly about sending the ball it to space when we are under pressure from some very effective defenders.

Overall though, a closely fought game and a well deserved victory.
