U13B netball v Fettes

Loss 9-12

The girls met a strong opponent in Fettes. The pace was quicker than what they have played so far this season but by the second quarter they were in sync with the pace Fettes had set. Tessa and Nadia in the D did very well scoring 2 or 3 goals every quarters. The girls in C and WA (Bea, Isla and Emilia) had a tough job at being quick passing the ball and keeping it going. The girls had difficulties at first to think ahead and place themselves strategically. It meant, our C having no one to pass the ball to and, as a consequence, too many balls were lost in the first two quarters. They managed to correct this and improve their passing. We had a busy defense team with Lexie in GK, Valentina and Hattie at GD and WD in turns. The girls were under pressure from Fettes until the end as Fettes twice scored in the last 10 seconds of the second and last quarter. Our team also had to adapt to the starting structure Fettes used for their center pass which they had not seen in practice.

The focus was a lot better in this game, compared to last week, where the end of the match was a little scrappy. The girls are definitely showing progress. There are still mistakes such as footwork and contact which could be avoided and this is something we will work torward.
