2^nd Team Rounders

Team: Rowan (Capt), Hattie, Emilia S, Dulcie, Aglaya, Gabriella, Emilia M, Lyla, Jaqueline & Anne

Rowan won the choice for Cargilfield to field first. We had Duclie bowling, Anne and Lyla at backstop, Jaqueline on 1^st, Gabriella on 2^nd and Rowan on 3^rd with the rest of the team in the outfield. St Mary’s started batting and got the game going with a home run. This streak of good hitting continued while we tried to stop the hard balls being hit out into the field. Our reaction speed and accurate throwing lacked which gave St Mary’s an advantage and allowed them to score many ½ rounders. Dulcie was bowling well and also made a catch to take out a player. St Mary’s finished their first innings on 10point

We were now ready to bat. Anne started the team off with some solid batting getting herself onto 1^st base. Gabriella came up 2^nd and with a good hit she challenged herself to gain a point for the team however was taken out on 2^nd. The rest of the team continued to work their way around the posts one after another however only making it to 1st base keeping them in the game but not gaining the team vital points. The round finished on 2 ½ points.

Our turn again in the field and this time made a couple of good catches to hold St Mary’s to 8 points this innings. We finished the game with 4 points to 18 loss.
