U11A Hockey v Loretto U12A

A terrific start to the season, girls!

The team: Zinnia, Livia, Isla, Clara, Alice, Isabelle, Esme & Minty

The teams first fixture of the season was quite challenging, as they were matched up against the Loretto U12 girls due to a shortage of players in their U11 age group. Despite the unbalanced nature of the game, the girls maintained a positive attitude throughout. The primary goal for the game was to help the players understand their individual positions on the pitch and encourage mutual support among teammates.

Eleora stood out in the defence, actively tackling and preventing many of the balls from reaching the goal. Minty performed exceptionally well in goal during the match. Being awarded the title of "Player of the Match" by the Loretto players is a significant recognition of her outstanding performance.

The team's defence, consisting of Clara, Eleora, and Alice, played a crucial role in the game. They worked together to clear the ball when Loretto threatened to enter the shooting circle, show their strong teamwork and defensive skills. The midfield and attacking players were actively involved in supporting the defence when needed. Livia's ability to make good breaks into the attack and taking a powerful shot on goal from the top of the circle. The game highlighted the teams sportsmanship and areas they can work on in their training sessions ahead of next week’s game. Well done!
