U11 Cricket lost to St Mary's

By the barest of margins!

On a balmy May afternoon our U11A team took on a strong St Mary’s team on an excellently prepared wicket by Kenny. Cargilfield started the match well bowling superbly to limit St Mary’s openers to 5 runs off the first 4 overs. Thereafter, St Mary’s middle order started to creep there way back into the game with a strong partnership. Max took over the bowling at the death and bowled superbly to limit St Mary’s to 68 runs off their 16 overs. It must be said, our ground fielding was outstanding with Hamish producing an excellent run out.

Torin and Arlo opened up and started nicely, building an excellent partnership before two quick wickets fell to swing the momentum in St Mary’s favour. Hamish played an enterprising knock which consisted of some flamboyant stroke play to near Cargilfield to their target. However, St Mary’s openers returned and pegged the school back to win a fabulous game by 8 runs. An excellent team performance with many players featuring in only their second game of hard ball cricket.

Well done!
