U12 Hockey v Clifton Hall
Won 4 - 0
Our intrepid team of U12 Girls took on Clifton Hall on a freezing afternoon. We played on a 4G football pitch, so the play was slow and it was hard to play a wide, expansive, passing style of Hockey that we are used to. The girls adapted admirably well to a more confrontational and abrasive brand of Hockey. We learnt to pass the ball almost immediately as using any kind of skills on such a slow surface meant being tackled. We learnt to flick the ball or sweep hard to make a pass. Hitting was very difficult and reverse hits were also very hard. There was courage and good skills on show. After dominating play and spending a significant period of the match in the Clifton Hall D, we managed to find our way past some robust defence to score some goals. Well played girls.
