U9 Cricket v Strathallan
Won by 150 runs
On a mild but wet afternoon in Forgandenny, the Cargilfield U9 team played a team from Strathallan Prep School. We batted first and I was impressed with how many runs the team scored. Each pair hit some strong shots and the running between wickets was excellent. The scores were:
Archer and Hugo 31
Arran and Agustina 39
Magnus and Charlotte 19
Teddy and Eleora 13
Tommy and Minty 43
This gave the Cargilfield team a total of 145 runs.
I was particularly impressed with our fielding and bowling this afternoon. All the children bowling with a correct technique and becoming a lot more comfortable with the action. A wicket counted for -5, so low scores here are good!:
Minty -1
Tommy 2
Eleora 1
Teddy -4
Charlotte -4
Magnus 0
Agustina 0
Arran 1
Hugo -4
Archer 4
This gave the Strathallan team a score of -5, which, unbelievably, gave our second consecutive victory by 150 runs! Regardless of the score, we focused on our individual skills as well as our team performance. I was pleased with the positive, encouraging atmosphere on the pitch and the children are all developing great cricket knowledge and skills.
