U9 Netball beat Strathallan

Well played, girls!

The final match of the season was upon us! Zanna won the toss and opted for the first centre pass. We had a strong attacking field with Zanna as centre, Arabella as GA and Sophie as GS. It was clear that this was a solid line-up with Sophie scoring 2 goals and Arabella scoring 3.

The second quarter saw Izzie as GA and Zanna as GS. Lotte was fantastic as centre, jumping for the ball and being in good spaces. Strathallan stepped up their game a little, which meant it was a little more evenly played.

However, in the third quarter, we were back on top. Izzie played well in defence and Clara made some superb interceptions. Any chance Strathallan had was easily handled by our girls, showing an excellent understanding of the game and how to play to their advantage. Isabella really understood the role of centre and how she could be utilised to get our shooters in to better positions. As a result, Lotte was able to score two more goals.

The last quarter continued in much the same vein. Arabella was quick as centre, with Isabella and Sophie making a strong attacking team; Isabella scored 2 and Sophie scored 3. What a game!

I have to take this opportunity to say how immensely proud I am of the U9 girls. They have come on leaps and bounds, and formed a super team that play together and recognise each other’s strengths. They have been a joy to coach and have been undefeated this season; that’s my girls!
